15 Die in Rajasthan’s Phalodi as Tempo Traveller Crashes into Stationary Truck

On November 2, 2025, a tragic road accident occurred near Matoda village in Phalodi, Rajasthan, when a tempo traveller rammed into a stationary trailer on the Bharat Mala Highway, killing 15 people and injuring two others. The passengers were pilgrims belonging to the Mali community from Sursagar, Jodhpur, returning from Kolayat temple in Bikaner after offering prayers at the Kapil Muni Ashram. The impact was severe, leaving the front portion of the vehicle mangled and trapping passengers. Early rescue efforts were aided by local residents and motorists. The deceased bodies were placed in the mortuary of Osian government hospital, while the injured received initial treatment there before being referred to Jodhpur. Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep grief, directed district officials to provide proper medical care, and ensured all possible assistance to victims' families. President Droupadi Murmu conveyed condolences and prayers for recovery via social media. Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also mourned the loss and extended sympathies to families affected.
