15 Pilgrims Killed in Tempo Traveller Crash into Stationary Truck in Rajasthan's Phalodi

A tempo traveller carrying pilgrims rammed into a stationary trailer truck near Matoda village in Phalodi, Rajasthan, killing 15 people and injuring two. The victims were returning from Kolayat temple in Bikaner. Rajasthan Deputy CM Prem Chand Bairwa and other leaders expressed condolences and directed authorities to ensure medical care and timely treatment for the injured.

On November 2, 2025, a tragic road accident occurred near Matoda village on the Bharat Mala Highway in Phalodi district, Rajasthan, when a tempo traveller carrying pilgrims crashed into a stationary trailer truck. The pilgrims, mostly from the Sursagar area in Jodhpur, were returning from a visit to the Kolayat temple in Bikaner. The crash resulted in 15 fatalities, and two occupants were seriously injured and initially treated at a hospital in Osian before being referred to Jodhpur for advanced care. The front portion of the tempo traveller was severely damaged, trapping passengers inside, and local residents aided in rescue efforts before emergency services arrived. Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa conveyed his grief on the social platform X, offering condolences and directing officials to provide proper medical treatment to the injured. District Collector Shweta Chauhan confirmed all deceased were kept at the Osian government hospital mortuary. Police Commissioner Om Prakash Paswan reported the creation of a green corridor to facilitate quick and efficient transport of the injured to medical facilities, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to saving lives. Prominent leaders including Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and former CM Ashok Gehlot also expressed sorrow and urged support for victims’ families and prompt medical attention for survivors.
