The 30th edition of the European Union Film Festival (EUFF) opened on October 31, 2025, in New Delhi and continues in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, celebrating 30 years of Indo-European cinematic partnership. European Union Ambassador Herve Delphin emphasized the festival's evolution from purely showcasing European films to becoming a platform for cultural exchange, professional collaboration, and co-productions that benefit filmmakers economically and creatively. The festival features 28 films from across Europe centered on the theme 'Hope and Resilience,' representing universal human emotions like endurance and courage that transcend language and culture. Delphin noted the festival's role in strengthening not only trade and research but also crucial people-to-people connections through cultural experiences and student exchanges. Indian-Austrian filmmaker Sandeep Kumar, whose film 'Happy' was screened, described his storytelling as deeply personal and a blend of Indian and Austrian influences, underscoring the shared human emotions connecting audiences globally. The festival, organized by the EU Delegation to India with support from EU embassies, continues to foster mutual understanding between India and Europe by offering a window into European culture and society through cinema.
