5th Meeting of India-Russia Working Group on Military Cooperation Concludes in New Delhi

The 5th meeting of the India-Russia Working Group on Military Cooperation was held in New Delhi, co-chaired by Indian Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit and Russian Lt Gen Igor Dylevsky. The meeting reaffirmed commitment to enhance defence cooperation, focused on current plans, and explored new avenues for collaboration, training exchanges, and initiatives under their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.

The fifth meeting of the Working Group on Military Cooperation under the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military & Military-Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) took place in New Delhi on October 28-29, 2025, co-chaired by Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit from India and Lt Gen Igor Dylevsky from Russia. The meeting reviewed ongoing defence cooperation plans and explored new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and enhancing training exchanges. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to elevating the bilateral defence partnership, which functions within the framework of the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership established between the two nations. This forum has been instrumental in advancing military ties through regular dialogue and joint exercises such as INDRA, AVIA INDRA, and INDRA NAVY across land, air, and sea domains. The discussions emphasized strengthening operational synergy and identifying new initiatives to address emerging security challenges, reflecting a deepening strategic defence cooperation between India and Russia.
