AAP Accuses BJP Leaders of Double Voting in Delhi and Bihar Elections
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleges that BJP leaders voted in both the Delhi and Bihar Assembly elections in 2025, despite the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive intended to prevent duplicate voting. BJP MP Rakesh Sinha and others are accused of voting twice, which BJP leaders deny, stating they have legally shifted their voting locations. The Election Commission has not responded to these allegations.
In 2025, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) publicly accused several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha, Purvanchal Morcha president Santosh Ojha, and Nagendra Kumar, of voting in both the Delhi and Bihar Assembly elections. According to AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj, this double voting occurred despite the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive, which was supposed to eliminate duplicate voter registrations across states. Bharadwaj provided photographic and social media evidence, alleging systemic vote fraud and calling it a subversion of democracy. BJP leaders refuted these allegations, with Sinha asserting that his voter registration was lawfully transferred from Delhi to Bihar. He posted a video denying any wrongdoing and threatened legal action against what he called baseless charges. While political criticism and social media debates continue around the controversy, the Election Commission has not issued any statement responding to the claims. AAP leaders argue that such incidents undermine the integrity of the SIR process and demand peaceful democratic action to address these issues.
