Air India Shuttle Bus Catches Fire at Delhi Airport

A shuttle bus operated by Air India SATS caught fire at Delhi airport's Terminal 3. The bus was empty and on its way to pick up crew members when the engine ignited. No injuries were reported, and the fire was quickly extinguished by airport services.

On Tuesday afternoon, a shuttle bus operated by Air India SATS caught fire in the apron area of Terminal 3 at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The bus was stationed near a parking bay and was about to pick up crew members from a Hong Kong to Delhi flight. The engine, located at the rear of the CNG bus, suddenly ignited while the bus was stationary but the engine was still on. The driver managed to escape unharmed, and the airport fire service quickly responded to douse the flames. Nearly 30% of the bus was damaged. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation. The incident occurred around 1 p.m., and no passengers were on board at the time.
