Air India to Restart Delhi–Tel Aviv Flights from January 2026 to Boost Tourism and Bilateral Ties
Air India will resume direct flights between New Delhi and Tel Aviv starting January 1, 2026, operating five weekly flights using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This move, supported by the Israel Ministry of Tourism, aims to enhance tourism, business exchange, and connectivity between India and Israel with reduced travel time to around five and a half hours.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced the resumption of Air India's direct flight service between New Delhi (DEL) and Tel Aviv (TLV), effective from January 1, 2026. The airline will operate five weekly flights from Sunday to Thursday using Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes, covering the route in approximately five and a half hours via a secure and shorter air corridor over Saudi Arabia. This direct connection significantly improves convenience for passengers with scheduled departures from Delhi at 7:00 a.m. arriving in Tel Aviv at 9:55 a.m., and return flights leaving Tel Aviv at 11:40 a.m. reaching Delhi at 8:50 p.m., allowing smooth onward connectivity. The relaunch of this route is expected to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral ties by facilitating greater tourist and business exchange between the two countries. This development also aligns with growing demand for easier travel access to Israel among Indian tourists, highlighting Israel's diverse attractions from historical and religious sites to urban culture and wellness tourism. Additional momentum has been observed with Israeli carrier Arkia Airlines planning to resume flights to multiple Indian cities, further strengthening air connectivity between India and Israel.
