Air India to Resume Direct Delhi-Tel Aviv Flights from January 2026
Air India will restart direct flights between New Delhi and Tel Aviv on January 1, 2026, with five weekly services using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The move is expected to boost tourism and economic ties between India and Israel. Arkia Airlines also plans to resume direct flights to India, further enhancing connectivity.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced that Air India will resume direct flights between New Delhi and Tel Aviv starting January 1, 2026. The route will operate five times a week, from Sunday to Thursday, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Departure from Tel Aviv is scheduled for 11:40 AM, arriving in Delhi at 8:50 PM, while the Delhi flight will leave at 7:00 AM and reach Tel Aviv at 9:55 AM, facilitating convenient onward connections. This restoration is expected to stimulate tourism and economic exchange between India and Israel. Additionally, Arkia Airlines, an Israeli carrier, has expressed interest in reopening its direct route to India, with plans to use long-range Airbus A321neo LR jets. Arkia is considering destinations such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Goa. The return of Air India's direct flights is seen as a significant development for tourism, making travel between the two countries easier and more accessible. Galit Hoffman, Consul for Tourism Affairs at the Israel Ministry of Tourism in India, emphasized the importance of this direct link for promoting tourism and highlighted Israel's readiness to welcome Indian travelers.
