Air Liquide Strengthens Its India Footprint by Acquiring NovaAir
Air Liquide has agreed to acquire NovaAir, a leading industrial gas supplier in India, to expand its presence in the country's rapidly growing industrial sectors. The acquisition complements Air Liquide’s existing operations in North and West India by adding NovaAir’s strong positions in East and South India, enhancing its ability to serve diverse industries including automotive, healthcare, and electronics.
Air Liquide announced the acquisition of NovaAir, an Indian industrial gases producer founded in 2019, from PAG, a private equity firm. This strategic move significantly expands Air Liquide's reach across India by complementing its existing operations in the North and West with NovaAir’s presence in the East and South. NovaAir provides bulk and specialty gases, onsite services, and EPC support to critical sectors such as steel, automotive, electronics, photovoltaics, and healthcare. The combined operations create a comprehensive pan-India footprint, enabling Air Liquide to better serve a wide customer base ranging from SMEs to large industrial players. This acquisition is part of Air Liquide’s long-term commitment to India, where it has operated since 1992, involving industrial and medical gases, engineering services, and specialty chemicals. Integrating NovaAir will allow Air Liquide to leverage global technologies and strengthen logistics, customer service, and project management capabilities. Overall, this deal underlines Air Liquide’s confidence in India’s industrial growth potential and aligns with its global strategy of sustainable growth through innovation and operational excellence in emerging markets.
