Amazon India raises seller fees post-festive sales
Amazon India is increasing seller fees from November 15, 2025, including raising warehouse storage fees to ₹50 per cubic foot monthly and discontinuing refund of closing fees on returned orders. These changes follow the recent festive sales period and come after a referral fee reduction in September aimed at low-priced items. This fee hike affects sellers, especially during slower months, while Amazon's seller services revenue grew significantly in FY25.
Starting November 15, 2025, Amazon India will increase seller fees as the festive sales season concludes. Key changes include raising warehouse storage fees by ₹5 to ₹50 per cubic foot per month and ending the refund of closing fees when orders are returned. These adjustments follow a major fee revision in September 2025, where referral fees for products priced under ₹300 were reduced or eliminated across many categories to support competitive pricing and seller profitability. Despite seller concerns about higher costs during non-festive periods, Amazon's revenue from seller services surged by 19% to ₹30,139 crore in FY25, accompanied by reduced losses due to improved cost controls. Additionally, Amazon is expanding its quick commerce service, Amazon Now. Sellers need to factor in the updated fee structure, which includes referral, closing, weight handling, and storage fees, to accurately price products and maintain profitability on the platform.
