Azerbaijan's Industrial Output Surges in Chemical, Pharma, and Plastic Sectors

From January to November, Azerbaijan's chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber, and plastic goods sectors produced 2,076.3 million manat worth of products. Pharmaceutical production saw a significant 94.9% increase, rubber and plastic goods grew by 13.7%, and the chemical industry expanded by 8.7%. Key gains include a 95.2% rise in plastic bags and pouches, 13.2% in polyethylene, and 12.1% in ethylene, highlighting robust growth across these crucial industrial segments.

Azerbaijan's industrial output in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical products, and rubber and plastic goods sectors reached 2,076.3 million manat from January to November of this year, demonstrating significant economic activity. The period saw substantial growth across these sectors, with pharmaceutical products experiencing a remarkable 94.9% increase in production. Similarly, the rubber and plastic goods sector expanded by 13.7%, and the broader chemical industry products recorded an 8.7% rise compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.Detailed analysis reveals specific product categories driving this growth. Within the chemical industry, polyethylene production increased by 13.2%, while ethylene production saw a 12.1% boost. The rubber and plastic goods segment, excluding polyethylene, reported even more striking figures: the production of other plastic bags and pouches surged by 95.2%, plastic rods, shafts, and profiles by 26.6%, and plastic bottles, flasks, and similar items by 24%. The report also provided detailed figures for various chemical products for January-November 2025, including inert gases (42,368.3 thousand cubic meters), paint and varnish products (39,024.3 tons), inorganic chemicals (20,560 tons), and organic chemicals (788.3 thousand tons), alongside fertilizers and plastic mass, indicating a diversified and active production environment in the country. This comprehensive growth highlights Azerbaijan's strengthening manufacturing capabilities and industrial diversification efforts.
