Bahrain FM Arrives in Delhi for 5th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission

Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani arrived in New Delhi to co-chair the 5th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission with EAM S. Jaishankar. The meeting aims to strengthen bilateral relations, review cooperation in various sectors, and explore new areas such as fintech, space, and technology.

Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani arrived in New Delhi to co-chair the 5th India-Bahrain High Joint Commission meeting with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The meeting is a key institutional mechanism for deepening the multifaceted partnership between India and Bahrain. Discussions are expected to cover progress in existing areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, health, education, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as new avenues such as fintech, space, and technology. India and Bahrain share longstanding historical, cultural, and economic ties, with diplomatic relations dating back to 1971. A significant Indian community resides in Bahrain, contributing to the kingdom's economy. Bilateral trade has been growing, driven by sectors such as petroleum products, machinery, electronics, iron and steel, and food items. The two countries are also exploring greater collaboration in renewable energy, digital technologies, and start-ups. High-level visits have further strengthened bilateral relations. The visit marks an important engagement to build on the positive momentum in India-Bahrain relations.
