Bank Holidays in November 2025: Banks Closed for 11 Days Across India
In November 2025, banks in India will be closed for 11 days due to Sundays, two Saturdays, and regional festivals such as Kannada Rajyotsava, Guru Nanak Jayanti, and Wangala. Closures vary by state with public and private banks observing local holidays. Despite closures, digital banking services will remain operational, allowing customers to continue transactions online and through ATMs.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that banks will remain closed for a total of 11 days in November 2025. These include five Sundays, two Saturdays (the second and fourth Saturdays), and four state-specific holidays. Notable holidays include November 1 when banks in Karnataka close for Kannada Rajyotsava and Uttarakhand for Igas-Bagwal. On November 5, banks close in many states for Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnima, and Rahas Purnima. In Meghalaya’s Shillong, banks will be closed on November 6 and 7 for the Nongkrem Dance Festival and Wangala Festival respectively, while Bengaluru banks will observe Kanakadasa Jayanti on November 8. Regional differences mean that holidays apply only in certain states, so customers should verify the RBI’s state-wise calendar to plan branch visits. Throughout the month, digital banking platforms, including internet and mobile banking, NEFT, RTGS, UPI payments, and ATMs, will remain fully functional, ensuring uninterrupted access to financial services despite branch closures. Customers are advised to plan ahead for offline transactions like cheque deposits or loan consultations to avoid inconvenience during these holidays.
