A container truck carrying chemicals crashed into a roadside tree near Teen Hath Naka in Thane city late Sunday night. The impact caused a large branch to fall onto an autorickshaw moving ahead, damaging its roof but leaving the driver and two passengers unharmed. The branch also struck and collapsed a nearby streetlight pole. The truck was transporting polymer dispersions, a non-toxic and non-inflammable chemical used in various industries. Emergency services responded promptly, and traffic on the Nashik-Mumbai route was halted for about an hour before being diverted. Rescue personnel cleared the debris and restored normal traffic flow. No injuries were reported in the incident.
