At CIET 2025 in Awaza, Turkmenistan outlined plans for deep natural gas processing, focusing on blue ammonia and gas chemistry. The country aims to diversify its economy by developing new chemical production capacities, including nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, iodine-bromine products, and caustic soda. The new urea complex in Balkan province uses low-emission ammonia technology.

During the CIET 2025 International Conference in Awaza, Turkmenistan presented its strategy for advancing the chemical industry through deep processing of natural gas. Acting Chairman of Turkmenkhimiya, Tanryguly Ataev, highlighted three main areas: syngas production, gas chemical industry, and blue ammonia. The new urea complex in Balkan province uses technology that significantly reduces CO₂ emissions, meeting blue ammonia standards. The Chemical Industry Development Program includes plans for nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers, iodine-bromine products, caustic soda, chlorine, and hydromineral resource development at Garabogaz Bay. Turkmenistan invites international partners to participate in these projects, aiming to diversify its economy and strengthen its industrial base.
