Cinepolis India posted a net loss of ₹61 crore in fiscal year 2025, reversing from a ₹32 crore profit in the previous year, with revenues dropping to ₹1,284 crore. The decline in earnings was driven by weak Hindi film performance and delayed Hollywood releases, reflecting broader challenges in the multiplex sector.

In FY25, Cinepolis India experienced a difficult financial year, reporting a net loss of ₹61 crore compared to a net profit of ₹32 crore in FY24. The company’s revenue fell to ₹1,284 crore amid a significant drop in other income sources. This downturn is primarily attributed to the underperformance of Hindi-language films and postponements of several major Hollywood releases, which adversely impacted multiplex occupancies and income streams. Despite a recovery in the previous fiscal year with ₹13.46 billion revenue and a net profit of ₹321 million, the multiplex sector as a whole remains challenged by the ongoing impacts of film release schedules and shifting consumer behaviors. Cinepolis India, operating over 485 screens, continues to seek growth through strategic expansion and stronger film lineups, but FY25 results illustrate the sector's volatility and the sensitivity of multiplex profitability to content releases and market conditions.
