CSPC Inaugurates Product Innovation Center in South China
Petrochemicals giant CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited (CSPC) has inaugurated a product innovation center in Guangdong, South China. This 7,000-square-meter facility, equipped with over 170 advanced sets of equipment, signifies CSPC's strategic pivot towards high-end, innovation-driven production. It will focus on specialty polyols, high-end polyolefins, and differentiated polycarbonate, providing crucial technical support for new product development and capacity upgrades. The center also launched three new product brands targeting high-quality demand in advanced manufacturing, new energy, and healthcare sectors.
CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited (CSPC) officially opened its state-of-the-art product innovation center on January 28 in Guangdong Province, South China. Located within the Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park in Huizhou City, this inauguration represents a pivotal move for CSPC towards embracing high-end and innovation-driven manufacturing processes. The expansive 7,000-square-meter facility is meticulously equipped with more than 170 advanced pieces of equipment dedicated to comprehensive testing and pilot trials.The center's strategic focus is on three cutting-edge fields: specialty polyether polyols, high-end polyolefins, and differentiated polycarbonate engineering materials. These initiatives are designed to bolster CSPC's capacity upgrade programs and foster the creation of innovative new product solutions. Concurrent with the center's opening, CSPC introduced three new product brands. These brands are specifically tailored to address the evolving high-quality demands across crucial sectors such as advanced manufacturing, emerging energy technologies, and medical and health care.Huang Zhongjin, vice president of CSPC, emphasized the center's critical role in efficiently responding to dynamic market demands. He articulated that the facility is poised to function as a vital conduit, translating creative concepts into tangible industrial applications and overcoming existing technical barriers. With over two decades of operation in Huizhou, CSPC has established a formidable presence, boasting an ethylene production capacity of 3.8 million tons, which has successfully attracted nearly 500 upstream and downstream enterprises to the regional industrial cluster, cementing Huizhou's status as a leading petrochemical hub.
