Dassault Aviation has inaugurated expanded premises for its Engineering Center in Pune, doubling its capacity to over 150 engineers. This move supports India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, enhances local technological capabilities, and fulfills offset obligations under the Rafale fighter jet contract with the Indian Air Force. The facility bolsters Dassault’s engineering, design, and industrial partnerships in India.

Dassault Aviation officially opened a significantly expanded Engineering Center in Pune, Maharashtra, increasing its capacity to accommodate more than 150 engineers. The expansion aligns with India’s policy goals of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ reinforcing Dassault’s commitment to fostering indigenous technological expertise and strengthening local aerospace capabilities. Established in 2018, the Pune center handles a broad scope of engineering activities in both civil and military sectors, covering the aircraft lifecycle from design through production and support. By expanding this facility, Dassault aims to support the transfer and production of Rafale fighter jets and Falcon business jets in India, enhancing the domestic aerospace ecosystem and fulfilling offset obligations tied to the Rafale contract with the Indian Air Force. This move deepens Dassault Aviation’s industrial footprint in India, involving partnerships in manufacturing, maintenance, and technology transfer, thereby contributing to India’s push for defence indigenisation and increased private-sector participation in advanced defence manufacturing. The expanded Pune center thus serves as a critical hub for developing advanced design, engineering, and industrial capabilities, empowering Indian talent and connecting local and global supply chains.
