Dassault Aviation has officially expanded its Engineering Center in Pune, Maharashtra, effectively doubling its operational capacity to accommodate more than 150 engineers. This strategic growth is part of Dassault's long-term commitment to India's 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) policies, aiming to foster local aerospace expertise and integrate Indian capabilities into global supply chains. The center, operational since 2018, now oversees a broader scope of engineering activities—from design and production to support—covering the entire aircraft lifecycle as part of an extended design office approach. The expansion is also tied to Dassault's efforts to meet offset obligations linked to the Rafale fighter jet contract with the Indian Air Force.
