Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the number of Maoist-affected districts in India has drastically decreased from 125 to just three over the last 11 years. He expressed confidence that soon every part of Chhattisgarh and the entire country will be free from Maoist terror. Modi highlighted recent development initiatives in previously affected areas, the surrender of many Maoists, and the restoration of peace and normalcy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significant progress made in eradicating Maoist terrorism across India, particularly in Chhattisgarh, where the number of affected districts has fallen from 125 to only three over 11 years. He assured that the day is not far when every corner of Chhattisgarh and India will be completely free from Maoist terror. Modi recalled the violence and underdevelopment suffered in tribal regions, including attacks on schools, hospitals, and the killing of doctors and teachers, which left communities abandoned by previous governments. The current government’s focused efforts have resulted in the surrender of many Maoists, some carrying high bounties, and have facilitated their reintegration into society. Development projects have revived previously isolated areas, exemplified by electricity reaching villages after decades and new schools being opened. Modi credited the armed forces, police, and security personnel for their courageous sacrifices, which have paved the way for peace and progress. The prime minister’s message underlines a transformation from fear and violence to safety, growth, and constitutional respect in formerly Maoist-dominated regions.
