Singh, operating under foreign handlers, aimed to expand the gang's extortion network and assert supremacy. He was caught near Dwarka with two loaded pistols and live cartridges, riding a stolen scooty. This arrest is a significant breakthrough against organized crime in the Capital, with further investigation underway.
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has achieved a significant success by arresting Kuldeep Singh, 22, identified as the primary shooter for the notorious Kaushal Chaudhary gang. Singh was apprehended in Dwarka after the Anti-Gangster Squad (AGS) acted on specific intelligence, intercepting him on a stolen scooty near Sector-17. He attempted to escape but was swiftly overpowered. Authorities recovered two loaded pistols – a PX-30 automatic pistol and a sophisticated 7.65 mm pistol – along with five live cartridges, leading to a case under the Arms Act.Investigators revealed that Singh was allegedly working on instructions from foreign-based gang handlers, Pawan Shokeen and Gurdeep alias Paa Ji. His mission was to eliminate a businessman in Burari, a move intended to project the gang's dominance, intimidate rivals, and expand its organized extortion activities across Delhi and neighboring states. Singh has a criminal history, including involvement in a Rs. 5 crore extortion-cum-firing case in Punjab in 2024, from which he was released on bail in August 2025. He had conducted reconnaissance of his target and communicated with gang operatives in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh using encrypted platforms. The scooty he used was stolen from Murad Nagar, UP. This arrest marks a crucial step in combating the recent surge in organized crime and extortion attempts in the National Capital Region, with ongoing efforts to dismantle the wider international network.
