Delhi Faces Severe Air Pollution and Slight Chill, IMD Predicts Rain

Delhi experienced a slight chill with minimum temperatures around 19°C and afternoon highs near 30°C. Air quality remained very poor, with several areas crossing the 400 AQI mark. IMD forecasted light rainfall and a thin layer of morning haze, with temperatures dipping to 24°C at night. Thunderstorms and heavy rain were expected in other regions.

On November 5, Delhi saw a slight chill in the air, with minimum temperatures hovering around 19°C and afternoon highs reaching about 30°C. Morning haze was expected to clear as the day progressed. Nighttime temperatures dropped to 24°C, signaling the onset of early winter. Air quality in Delhi remained in the 'very poor' category, with several monitoring stations, including Wazirpur, Jahangirpuri, and Bawana, recording AQI levels above 400. The IMD predicted light rainfall and a brief improvement in air quality due to settling dust and pollutants. Thunderstorms with strong winds were expected in Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, while isolated heavy rain was possible in Tamil Nadu. Light to moderate rain was forecasted for Punjab and Haryana, with scattered to heavy rain and snowfall in the northern regions. Delhi NCR may see only very light rain or drizzle, which could temporarily improve air quality.
