The Delhi government has initiated a series of anti-pollution measures, including extensive road cleaning, dust control, and tree maintenance across 1,400 km of PWD roads. Over 200 maintenance vans are deployed for daily cleaning, with strict accountability and weekly reviews. The campaign targets debris removal, pothole filling, and coordination with municipal bodies to improve air quality.

The Delhi government, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has launched a comprehensive campaign to combat rising pollution levels in the city. The initiative involves a large-scale road cleaning operation across all Public Works Department (PWD) roads, with 200 maintenance vans deployed to perform deep cleaning, dust control, debris removal, pothole filling, and repair of road signage and streetlights. Each van is supervised by a Junior or Assistant Engineer to ensure accountability. The campaign also prioritizes the upkeep of trees along PWD roads, with 60 dedicated vans for pruning and maintenance. The Chief Minister emphasized strict guidelines, individual officer accountability, and weekly progress reviews, with all work to be completed within 45 days. Any negligence will be met with strict action. The government is coordinating efforts across departments, including monitoring polluting industrial units and vehicles, and addressing pollution hotspots. The campaign is part of a broader push to improve air quality by managing dust and debris on roads, with regular maintenance planned to ensure sustained cleanliness and effective pollution control.
