Delhi HC Directs PCI to Evaluate SBSF College's D.Pharm Affiliation
The Delhi High Court has ordered the Pharmacy Council of India to process SBSF College of Pharmacy's application for changing its affiliating authority for the D.Pharm course in 2025-26, without requiring a de-affiliation certificate from the previous council.
The Delhi High Court has granted relief to SBSF College of Pharmacy by directing the Pharmacy Council of India to evaluate and decide on the college's application for changing its affiliating/examining authority for the D.Pharm course for the academic session 2025-26. The court ruled that PCI should not insist on a de-affiliation certificate from the previous council, as the college's earlier affiliation with the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development never materialized. The college had received approval for the D.Pharm course from PCI for 2024-25 but could not launch it due to lack of affiliation from the state council. For the 2025-26 session, the college obtained a fresh NOC from the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal and deposited the required fee. The court disposed of the matter, instructing PCI to proceed with the evaluation without further delay.
