Delhi High Court Halts Promotions of Ravi Mohan's 'Bro Code' Over Trademark Dispute

The Delhi High Court has issued an interim injunction stopping Ravi Mohan Studios from using the title 'Bro Code' for their upcoming film due to a trademark infringement suit filed by Indospirit Beverages, which owns the registered BROCODE mark for its alcoholic beverage. Ravi Mohan Studios claim the dispute arose after they refused to endorse the beverage brand in the film. The final decision is expected on December 23, 2025.

Ravi Mohan, an actor-producer, announced his film titled 'Bro Code' under his banner, Ravi Mohan Studios. However, the Delhi High Court imposed an interim injunction preventing the studio from using the title after Indospirit Beverages Pvt. Ltd., the maker of an alcoholic drink named BROCODE since 2015, filed a trademark infringement suit. The beverage company argued that the identical names could mislead consumers and harm the brand's reputation. Ravi Mohan Studios contested the allegation by stating that the dispute was due to their refusal to enter a promotional partnership endorsing the beverage brand within the film, which they claimed would set a wrong example. Earlier, the Madras High Court had granted interim relief allowing the film’s promotion to continue, but this was overturned by the Delhi High Court. This legal setback puts the film’s title in jeopardy, forcing producers to consider renaming it. The final hearing to resolve the matter is scheduled for December 23, 2025, when the court will decide whether the film can keep the title or must change it before release.
