Lawyers at Delhi's District Courts have resolved to strike on November 6 to protest the arrest of Advocate Vikram Singh by Haryana police. Singh was representing an accused in a murder case, and the Delhi Bar views his arrest as an attack on legal independence. The strike is a show of solidarity demanding immediate withdrawal of proceedings against him.

The Coordination Committee of All District Courts Bar Associations of Delhi announced a complete strike on November 6 to protest the arrest of Advocate Vikram Singh by the Special Task Force of Gurugram Police. Singh was arrested in connection with a murder case registered in January 2024, where he was defending an accused party. The committee condemned the arrest as an arbitrary and unlawful action, labeling it a deliberate attempt to intimidate lawyers and undermine the independence of the legal profession. The strike aims to send a strong message opposing police intimidation and to safeguard lawyers' rights to represent clients fearlessly. The committee demanded immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all charges and proceedings against Singh. All Delhi Bar Associations pledged full participation, abstaining from all court work on the strike day. The protest highlights tensions between legal professionals and law enforcement regarding police conduct affecting advocates' professional duties.
