On October 28, Delhi Police conducted an operation in Dwarka leading to the arrest of Vikas alias Bagga, a known criminal affiliated with the notorious Anil Chippi and Kala Jatheri gangs. The arrest followed an exchange of gunfire after police intercepted Vikas, who was acting on discreet intelligence suggesting he would carry an illegal weapon to commit a crime. When approached, Vikas fired three rounds at the officers, one of which struck a bulletproof jacket, protecting a head constable. The police retaliated, successfully immobilizing Vikas by shooting him in the right leg before taking him into custody and hospitalizing him. Vikas has a serious criminal record with involvement in cases of murder, attempted murder, and robbery across Haryana and Delhi, including a recent murder case in Rohini District, Delhi, from which he had been evading arrest. This arrest exemplifies Delhi Police's intensified crackdown on organized crime under the 'No Guns No Gangs' initiative to curb criminal activities in the capital city.
