Delhi is preparing for its first artificial rain experiment using cloud seeding to combat severe air pollution. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the trial will proceed once visibility in Kanpur improves. The operation involves spraying silver iodide and sodium chloride into clouds to induce rainfall, part of Delhi's strategy to mitigate winter pollution. Preparations have been ongoing, with a successful test flight over Burari marking an early step. The project has secured necessary approvals from multiple agencies, with the trial expected between October 28 and 30.
