Delhi Red Fort Blast: Doctors' Terror Network and Funding Exposed
Investigators revealed that a group of doctors raised Rs 26 lakh to finance coordinated terror attacks, including the 2025 Delhi Red Fort car explosion. The accused meticulously acquired explosives and remote detonators, with Umar Un-Nabi Mohammad allegedly overseeing the technical aspects. Three doctors have been arrested, while others remain at large.
The probe into the 2025 Delhi Red Fort car explosion has uncovered a sophisticated white-collar terror network involving a group of educated professionals, primarily doctors. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) found that the accused raised Rs 26 lakh to fund their conspiracy, with key figures such as Muzammil Ganaie, Adeel Ahmad Rather, Muzaffar Ahmad Rather, Shaheen Shahid, and Umar Un-Nabi Mohammad contributing varying amounts. The funds were used to acquire explosives and remote-triggering devices over a two-year period, indicating careful planning. Umar is believed to have managed the technical side, including the conversion of fertilizers into explosives and the arrangement of detonators. Three doctors have been arrested, while Muzaffar Rather is suspected to be in Afghanistan. Authorities are also searching for Nissar ul-Hassan, a colleague at Al-Falah Medical College. The large stockpile of explosives and the detailed confessions suggest plans for multiple attacks, not just the Red Fort blast. Investigators are now tracing upstream suppliers and examining how the accused may have misused their professional credentials to facilitate the terror module.
