He highlighted Swami Dayanand’s teachings as the philosophical foundation for India's freedom struggle, influencing revolutionaries like Lala Lajpat Rai and Ram Prasad Bismil. Gupta also emphasized Swami Shraddhanand’s leadership in the 1919 Satyagraha and the early national movement in Delhi.
At the International Arya Samaj Conference in Rohini commemorating 150 years of Arya Samaj, Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta described Swami Dayanand Saraswati as not only a saint and social reformer but the true architect of India’s freedom. Gupta said Swami Dayanand’s work, especially through the book Satyarth Prakash, laid the philosophical and moral foundation for a new India built on truth, equality, and national awakening. He credited Swami Dayanand with sowing the seeds of independence that inspired major revolutionaries such as Lala Lajpat Rai and Ram Prasad Bismil. Gupta also highlighted Swami Shraddhanand’s pivotal role in advancing the independence movement, particularly during the 1919 Satyagraha in Delhi, which was a precursor to the larger Jallianwala Bagh movement. The Speaker connected these historical events to the functioning of Delhi’s Legislative Assembly and the Imperial Legislative Council, where the Rowlatt Act was controversially passed, spurring Gandhiji’s call for Satyagraha. The event drew notable guests like Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and national leaders of the DAV Management and Arya Samaj, emphasizing the lasting legacy of Swami Dayanand's vision in India’s freedom and social reform.
