Delhi will ban non-BS VI commercial vehicles from entering starting November 1, 2025, to curb pollution. BS-IV vehicles have a transitional allowance until October 31, 2026. The move aims to reduce emissions and improve air quality during winter months.

Starting November 1, 2025, Delhi will prohibit the entry of all non-BS VI compliant commercial goods vehicles registered outside the city. This decision is part of a broader effort by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to tackle the severe air pollution in Delhi during winter. BS-VI compliant vehicles, along with CNG, LNG, and electric vehicles, are exempt from these restrictions. BS-IV vehicles will be allowed entry until October 31, 2026, as a transitional measure. The move is expected to significantly reduce particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions, contributing to cleaner air in Delhi. The decision follows a CAQM meeting where officials approved the ban to combat the city's notorious winter smog, which often reaches 'severe' levels due to pollution from various sources including vehicular emissions.
