Delhi will experience major traffic restrictions and diversions on November 7, 2025, due to the 150th anniversary celebrations of 'Vande Mataram' at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex. Around 11,000 guests are expected, causing regulated or diverted traffic, especially around ITO and Rajghat from 5 AM to 2 PM. Several central routes will be closed or have no parking zones.

The 150th anniversary celebrations of the national song 'Vande Mataram' will take place on November 7, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi, drawing approximately 11,000 invitees arriving in about 1,000 cars and 300 buses. To accommodate the event and ensure security, Delhi Police have implemented extensive traffic restrictions and diversions in central Delhi, particularly on important routes such as ITO, Rajghat, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, MG Marg, IP Marg, Vikas Marg, Secretariat Road, and Velodrome Road. These restrictions will be in force from 5 AM to 2 PM, including no parking zones on roads like Velodrome Road, Secretariat Road, Indraprastha Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and others. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed and penalized. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the year-long commemoration, which marks the legacy of 'Vande Mataram,' composed by Bankimchandra Chatterji in 1875. Commemorative coins and postage stamps will be released during the ceremony, celebrating the song's role in India's freedom movement and its enduring symbolism of national unity. Commuters are strongly advised to follow traffic advisories, obey on-ground officers, and use alternate routes to avoid delays and ensure smooth travel throughout the event duration.
