A 32-year-old UPSC aspirant in Delhi was murdered by his 21-year-old live-in partner and two accomplices after he secretly recorded obscene videos of her and other women. Police recovered a hard disk containing videos of over 15 women from the victim’s flat.

In Delhi's Timarpur area, a 32-year-old UPSC aspirant was found charred to death in his apartment on October 6. Initial reports cited negligent conduct with fire, but investigation revealed a premeditated murder planned by the victim’s live-in partner, a 21-year-old forensic science student, her ex-boyfriend, and an associate. The motive stemmed from the victim secretly recording obscene videos of his partner and over 15 other women, without their consent. When confronted and asked to delete the videos, the victim refused, angering the partner. She leveraged her forensic knowledge to meticulously stage the murder as an accidental fire by strangling the victim, pouring oil and alcohol on the body, and igniting a gas cylinder near him, causing an explosion that burned the body completely. Police seized a hard disk from the flat containing numerous private videos that forensic experts are reviewing to identify the women and verify consent. The crime unraveled after suspicious CCTV footage and concerns from the victim’s cousin led to the arrest of all three accused. The case highlights issues of privacy violation, revenge, and the misuse of intimate recordings in a fatal context.
