The Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) sealed two chemical shops in NIT Nehru Ground following an NIA-instigated investigation. The shops, BR Scientific and Chemicals and Paul Chemicals, were allegedly found to have sold chemicals for explosives to Red Fort blast accused Dr Muzammil and Dr Shaheen Saeed. The action was based on findings by an SDM-formed committee, which also cited excessive stock, misuse of trade licenses, unlicensed sales, and poor buyer record-keeping as reasons for the sealing.

On Thursday, the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad (MCF) proceeded to seal two chemical shops, BR Scientific and Chemicals and Paul Chemicals, situated at NIT Nehru Ground. This decisive action stems from allegations that these establishments sold chemicals to Dr Muzammil and Dr Shaheen Saeed, individuals accused in connection with the Delhi Red Fort blast. The sealing followed a formal request from a committee constituted by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Trilok Chand, which was initiated at the behest of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).The NIA had previously raided both shops after the alleged terrorists' arrests, examining their chemical sales records. During the investigation, the NIA even brought Dr Shaheen to one of the shops to question him in front of the proprietor. The shopkeeper, however, claimed inability to recall specific customers due to high foot traffic. The investigating officer subsequently seized the record register and requested the SDM to form a committee for further inquiry. This committee's investigation revealed multiple significant violations: the shops were found to be holding chemical stock in excess of permitted quantities, misusing their trade licenses, selling chemicals without the necessary licenses, and failing to maintain proper records of buyers. Police confirmed that Dr Muzammil and Shaheen allegedly purchased chemicals for making explosives from these shops, leading to the sealing of the premises.
