Female Bootlegger Arrested in Delhi with Over 1,300 Litres of Illegal Liquor

A 57-year-old woman was arrested by Delhi Police in North-East Delhi for possessing over 1,300 litres of illicit liquor, marked for sale only in Haryana. The woman has a history of eight prior similar cases. Police have registered a case under Section 33 of the Delhi Excise Act and are investigating the source and other involved parties. Additionally, four men were arrested in a related crackdown with 7,450 quarters of illegal liquor.

During evening patrolling in North-East Delhi's Jyoti Nagar area, police officers found a suspicious woman sitting outside her home with a bucket containing liquor quarters. A raid at her premises uncovered 7,309 quarters, totaling 1,315.62 litres of illegal liquor labeled for sale in Haryana only. Identified as a 57-year-old resident with a history of bootlegging, she was arrested and a case has been opened under the Delhi Excise Act. The police investigation aims to trace the liquor’s source and identify additional racketeers involved. Separately, Delhi Police’s Outer North district recently intercepted four men transporting 7,450 quarters of illicit liquor in Rohini, seizing three vehicles used for smuggling. The arrested men include Vishal, who has a previous excise violation. These incidents underscore ongoing efforts by Delhi Police to combat illegal liquor trading in the capital region.
