Government Hosts National FPO Samagam 2025 in Delhi to Empower Farmers
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is organizing the two-day National FPO Samagam 2025 in New Delhi on October 30-31, bringing together over 500 farmers from 24 states and 267 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to celebrate collective farming, showcase products, and explore innovations. The event highlights government efforts under the 'Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs' scheme to strengthen India's cooperative farm economy.
The National FPO Samagam 2025, held at the NCDC and NCUI Complex in Hauz Khas, New Delhi, convenes more than 500 farmers from 24 states and 140 districts, along with Implementing Agencies and business organizations. A total of 267 FPOs exhibit a diverse range of agricultural produce, including grains, pulses, millets, spices, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, honey, tea, coffee, dairy, and organic products. Value-added items such as jaggery, pickles, jams, herbal remedies, and traditional foods also feature prominently, reflecting the innovation within India’s farming communities. The event symbolizes the government's vision of “One India – One Agriculture,” fostering unity in agriculture across regions. Technical sessions address critical topics like oilseed production, natural farming, water-use efficiency, and access to finance. Institutions including the National Bee Board and Flipkart contribute expertise on honey processing, digital commerce, and seed marketing. A Buyer–Seller Meet facilitates direct market linkages between farmers, cooperatives, agri-industries, and e-commerce platforms, aiming to expand market access and strengthen rural entrepreneurship. The Ministry also honors top-performing FPOs and related entities for excellence in governance, farmer mobilization, and digital innovation. Overall, the Samagam embodies the government’s commitment to empowering small and marginal farmers through cooperative enterprise and agribusiness development, promoting sustainable rural economic growth.
