External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently met with Cyprus's Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos in New Delhi. The meeting focused on reviewing the India-Cyprus Joint Action Plan 2025-29, which aims to deepen bilateral ties in areas such as trade, investment, technology, and culture. Both nations emphasized their trusted friendship and reliable partnership, with Cyprus consistently supporting India on core issues like counter-terrorism and India's bid for a permanent UN Security Council seat. The partnership is particularly significant as Cyprus prepares to assume the EU Presidency in 2026, further aligning with India's strategic interests in the EU.
