Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced an ambitious plan to transform India Post into a modern logistics and digital services enterprise. The goal is for parcels and mail to contribute at least 75% of India Post's revenue within three years. This involves leveraging its vast network of post offices and workforce. The plan includes new technology systems, revamped infrastructure, and launching multiple digital and logistics products. India Post achieved 80% of its second-quarter revenue target despite disruptions. Delhi and Telangana outperformed their targets, while Kerala and Karnataka faced shortfalls. Scindia emphasized the need for underperforming circles to improve and for a shift towards a hub-and-spoke logistics model, powered by data analytics and automation. The transformation also includes adopting global best practices and increasing private sector engagement.
