India to Host International Conference on Green Hydrogen 2025 in New Delhi
India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will host the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) on 6–7 November 2025 in New Delhi. The event will gather global experts, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss advancements in green hydrogen production, policy, finance, and commercialization as part of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission launched in 2023.
The International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025), organized by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), will take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from 6 to 7 November 2025. This conference aims to accelerate the green hydrogen value chain by bringing together global experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to foster collaboration in hydrogen production, policy frameworks, financing mechanisms, and market strategies. Since the launch of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission in January 2023, the government has introduced supportive policies, innovation grants, and pilot initiatives to integrate green hydrogen into its renewable energy agenda. India aims to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors such as refining, fertilizers, steel, chemicals, aviation, and shipping, while developing domestic manufacturing capacity for electrolysers and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technologies. The conference will cover topics including hydrogen blending mandates, viability gap funding, low-interest loans, and regulatory incentives intended to lower project costs and attract private investment. Demonstrations of advanced electrolysis techniques and biomass gasification with CCUS will showcase technological breakthroughs. With abundant solar and wind resources, India projects green hydrogen production costs below US$2/kg by 2030, promising significant CO₂ reductions and rural economic benefits. ICGH 2025 is positioned as a pivotal event to catalyze global partnerships, investment commitments, and regulatory frameworks that could shape the future global hydrogen economy while advancing India’s energy independence and industrial decarbonization goals.
