Indigenous SatCom and ISRO Collaboration Propel India's Connectivity Revolution

C-DOT CEO Rajkumar Upadhyay stated that India's satellite communication (SatCom) sector is rapidly advancing due to indigenous innovation, ISRO's expertise, and partnerships with startups. He praised the government's initiative, InSpace, for bridging ISRO's legacy with private sector contributions. Upadhyay highlighted the success of the NavIC navigation system as proof of India's capability to develop world-class technologies and called for its global popularization. He also noted ISRO's recent achievements, including launching the heaviest satellite and deploying over 100 satellites, which are strengthening India's connectivity and national security. Upadhyay stressed the importance of semiconductor development for India's technological self-reliance, advocating for investment in chip design and manufacturing. He emphasized the interconnectedness of semiconductors and SatCom in India's innovation strategy. Upadhyay called for better coordination among government departments and research institutions to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. While acknowledging improved access to capital through government initiatives, he pointed out the need for better execution and unity to propel India as a global supplier in the SatCom sector.
