Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar made his first official visit to India, where he met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Saar praised India as a global superpower and highlighted the importance of building a long-term strategic partnership between Israel and India. He expressed gratitude for India's solidarity, especially after the October 7 Hamas attack, and condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, stressing that radical terrorism is a mutual threat to both nations. Saar reiterated Israel's commitment to disarming Hamas and supporting regional connectivity initiatives like I2U2 and IMEEC. Jaishankar welcomed the discussions, noting the high degree of trust and reliability in India-Israel relations and reaffirming zero tolerance for terrorism. The two countries also signed a bilateral investment agreement, expected to boost bilateral investments to USD 800 million. The visit included paying floral tributes at Teen Murti Haifa Chowk and exchanging views on multilateral cooperation.
