Jolly Phonics, developed by Jolly Learning Ltd. in the UK, is expanding its literacy mission in India through an extensive teacher training tour in November 2025. The tour covers nine cities—Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Indore, Delhi, and Jodhpur—with interactive workshops led by certified Indian trainers and Chris Jolly, Founder of Jolly Learning. The programme focuses on teaching synthetic phonics, which combines multi-sensory, fun activities to help children acquire foundational reading and writing skills more rapidly and confidently than traditional methods. Jolly Phonics has been successfully implemented in over 100 countries and is recognized in high-performing educational systems such as Singapore and Ireland. The Indian tour aims to empower educators with practical skills to make English learning engaging and inclusive, contributing to improved literacy outcomes nationwide. Each training session promises certification for participants, practical classroom strategies, and a boost to the teaching community’s capacity to support early literacy. This initiative is part of broader efforts to make quality English education accessible across India’s diverse schooling environments, potentially strengthening literacy from the earliest years of education.
