Jordan's Energy Minister Inaugurates New JOTC Petrochemical Testing Lab

Jordan's Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh inaugurated a new laboratory at the Jordan Oil Terminals Company (JOTC) for petroleum derivatives and petrochemicals. The facility, equipped with internationally accredited technologies, aims to enhance quality assurance, testing, and accreditation in the energy sector, aligning with Jordan's Economic Modernisation Vision. This public-private partnership with Bureau Veritas is set to improve reliability, accuracy, and technical capabilities, supporting national infrastructure and regional standing.

Jordan's Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh officially opened a new state-of-the-art laboratory at the Jordan Oil Terminals Company (JOTC) in Amman. This facility, dedicated to testing petroleum derivatives and petrochemicals, is a significant step towards developing integrated services in quality assurance, testing, and accreditation within the energy sector. Minister Kharabsheh emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Economic Modernisation Vision and His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to empower national institutions and boost the efficiency of vital sectors.The new laboratories boast internationally accredited analytical technologies and adhere to the highest global standards of quality and safety, enabling Jordan's energy sector to keep pace with rapid technological and industrial advancements. The inauguration ceremony was attended by ministers of industry and environment, alongside various public and private sector officials. Kharabsheh highlighted the facility's role as a crucial addition to national infrastructure, enhancing reliability and accuracy in specialized laboratory testing. He also underscored the importance of public-private partnerships as a pillar of sustainable development, improving service quality and fostering a competitive environment in the region. JOTC Director General Ashraf Rawashdeh affirmed that the laboratory marks a major milestone for the company, reflecting its commitment to operational efficiency and innovation. The facility, developed in partnership with global leader Bureau Veritas, will provide high-precision testing services, enhancing JOTC's technical capabilities and opening new avenues for regional cooperation with industrial and research institutions.
