JP Nadda Appointed Head of Hindi Advisory Committee in Chemicals and Fertilisers Ministry
Union Minister JP Nadda will chair the Hindi Advisory Committee in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, with Minister of State Anupriya Patel as Vice-Chairperson. Reconstituted by the Union government, the committee's role is to recommend and oversee the progressive use of Hindi in official administrative work, ensuring compliance with constitutional and legal provisions. The panel includes six MPs, various official members, and representatives from language bodies, serving a three-year tenure to review and enhance Hindi implementation across the ministry.
Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Ministry's Hindi Advisory Committee. This reconstitution by the Union government also sees Minister of State Anupriya Patel taking on the role of Vice-Chairperson. The committee's central function is to review and provide recommendations on the progressive use of the Hindi language in the official administrative work of the ministry and its subordinate offices. It is tasked with ensuring strict compliance with constitutional provisions regarding official languages, policy decisions of the Central Hindi Committee, the Official Languages Act, and directives issued by the Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs.The newly formed committee features a diverse composition, including significant parliamentary representation with six Members of Parliament nominated from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Additionally, it comprises four members nominated by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, three from the Home Ministry's Department of Official Language, and one representative each from the Vishwa Hindi Parishad and the Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad. In total, the advisory committee consists of a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman, 15 nominated members, and 37 official members, including the Secretaries of the ministry's three departments. An Additional or Joint Secretary from the Department of Fertilisers will serve as the Member Secretary. The committee will have a standard tenure of three years and, while headquartered in New Delhi, is provisioned to hold its meetings in other locations across the country.
