Manali Petrochemicals Limited (MPL) has achieved a significant milestone with its subsidiary, PennWhite India Private Limited, inaugurating a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, on April 29, 2026. This strategic investment is designed to substantially bolster MPL's manufacturing infrastructure and expand its presence within the dynamic specialty chemicals sector. The newly commissioned plant is specifically geared towards enhancing production capacity in foam control chemistry, aiming to meet robust domestic demand while also serving customers across the wider Asian markets with globally competitive products.The establishment of this facility is a direct outcome of MPL's acquisition of PennWhite Limited (UK) in November 2022, followed by the incorporation of PennWhite India in February 2024 to accelerate business growth across India and Asia. Devaki Muthiah Chardon, Chairperson of PennWhite Limited (UK), emphasized that the facility transcends mere operational expansion, solidifying a strategic foothold in Asia that will enable superior regional customer service and unlock new partnerships. Tobias Tasche, CEO of PennWhite Limited (UK), highlighted its importance as a critical step in the company’s India roadmap, which includes the 2022 acquisition, the 2024 incorporation, and an earlier defoamer business acquisition. The Chennai plant is equipped to produce over 200 diverse products, including FoamDoctor® brand foam control agents and silicone oils, and has already secured ISO 9001 certification, with further quality and food safety certifications underway to strengthen its credibility in regulated markets. This expansion not only reinforces MPL's commitment to its specialty chemicals portfolio but also aligns with India's burgeoning status as a global manufacturing hub.
