Mandaviya Asserts Pakistan Has No Locus Standi on India's Internal Affairs
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated Pakistan has no right to comment on India's internal matters, especially regarding Jammu and Kashmir, and urged it to stop misusing global forums. He highlighted India's social and economic progress, including lifting 250 million out of poverty and expanding social security coverage.
During the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya strongly objected to Pakistan's references to India, asserting that Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on India's internal affairs, particularly concerning Jammu and Kashmir. He criticized Pakistan for engaging in cross-border terrorism and misusing international forums to spread disinformation. Mandaviya emphasized that Pakistan should introspect and address its own developmental challenges, which have led to its dependence on international aid. He also highlighted India's transformative progress, noting that about 250 million Indians have been lifted out of multidimensional poverty in the last decade. India's social security coverage has increased from 19% in 2015 to 64.3% in 2025, and the country has received international recognition for its achievements in social security. Mandaviya detailed India's lifecycle-based welfare system, which ensures support for children, youth, workers, and the elderly. He stressed the importance of innovation, inclusion, and people-centric policies in driving India's development, positioning India's model as emulative for the Global South.
