Mawani Signs SAR500M Deal for Chemical Storage at Jubail Port

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has partnered with Arabian Chemical Terminals for a SAR500 million project to build chemical and petrochemical storage tanks at Jubail Commercial Port. Covering 49,000 sq m with a 70,000 cubic ton capacity, this initiative aims to boost operational efficiency, increase handling capacity, and strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics hub. It aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030, enhancing the Kingdom's chemical logistics and supply chain capabilities.

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has formalized a significant agreement with Arabian Chemical Terminals to develop specialized storage tanks for chemical and petrochemical materials at Jubail Commercial Port. This substantial investment, exceeding SAR500 million, will establish facilities across an area of 49,000 square meters, designed to achieve a storage capacity of 70,000 cubic tons. The project is a strategic move aimed at considerably enhancing operational efficiency and increasing the port's handling capacity, directly contributing to the objectives outlined in Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy.This initiative is poised to solidify the Kingdom's standing as a premier global logistics hub. Beyond capacity expansion, the project emphasizes developing and expanding the export capabilities for chemical and petrochemical materials, adhering to the most stringent international standards for quality and safety.
