The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the stopping of a Nepali citizen, Shambhavi Adhikari, at Delhi Airport while transiting to Berlin was not due to Indian immigration officials but rather a decision by Qatar Airways, which cited her visa validity. The MHA emphasized that Indian authorities had no involvement and rejected claims of discrimination, reaffirming India's strong ties with Nepal.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) clarified that the incident involving a Nepali citizen, Shambhavi Adhikari, being stopped at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport while transiting to Berlin has been misrepresented as a case of discrimination by Indian authorities. According to the MHA, Indian immigration played no role in the matter. Instead, Qatar Airways decided not to allow Adhikari to board her connecting flight to Germany due to concerns over her visa validity, and consequently, she was sent back to Kathmandu. The ministry stressed that such decisions are typically based on the destination country's regulations and are handled directly between the airline and the passenger, without involvement from Indian immigration. Adhikari later rescheduled her travel and chose an alternative route from Kathmandu. The MHA reiterated that India values its relationship with Nepal and assured that there is no bias or discrimination by Indian authorities against Nepali citizens. The statement aimed to correct public misconceptions and clarify the procedural aspects of international transit and airline responsibilities.
