Miguel Prieto Arranz Appointed Executive Director of CEFIC Specialty Chemicals
Miguel Prieto Arranz has been appointed Executive Director of CEFIC Specialty Chemicals, succeeding Marc Vermeulen. Having joined CEFIC in 2012, Prieto Arranz brings extensive experience in policy and regulatory affairs, particularly in food, feed, food contact materials, and plastics additives. In his new role, he will oversee eight specialty chemicals clusters, focusing on strengthening collaboration, supporting policy work, and addressing key challenges facing Europe’s specialty chemicals value chains. Vermeulen transitions to a Senior Advisor role after nine years.
CEFIC Specialty Chemicals has announced a significant leadership transition with the appointment of Miguel Prieto Arranz as its new Executive Director. Prieto Arranz, who began his career at CEFIC in 2012, has steadily advanced through various roles, accumulating substantial expertise in policy and regulatory matters relevant to the chemical industry. His background includes focused work on food, feed, and food contact materials, as well as plastics additives, where he coordinated CEFIC activities and sector groups. This comprehensive experience has equipped him with a profound understanding of the Specialty Chemicals landscape and the strategic priorities of CEFIC’s diverse membership.In his new capacity, Miguel Prieto Arranz will be responsible for leading and coordinating eight distinct Specialty Chemicals clusters. His mandate includes supporting their crucial work on policy, regulatory compliance, and competitiveness files, while also ensuring effective coordination and coherence across the entire specialty chemicals community within CEFIC.
