Nuberg EPC Wins Major Chlor-Alkali Expansion Project in Oman
India’s Nuberg EPC has secured a contract to expand Al Ghaith Chemical Industries’ chlor-alkali capacity by 120 TPD and build an 80 TPD calcium chloride plant in Oman. The project, executed on a lump sum turnkey basis, marks the first large-scale chlor-alkali expansion in Oman and will boost the country’s chemical manufacturing ecosystem.
Nuberg EPC, a global leader in engineering, procurement, and construction for the chemical process industry, has been awarded a contract to execute a 120 TPD chlor-alkali expansion and an 80 TPD calcium chloride plant for Al Ghaith Chemical Industries at Sur Industrial City, Oman. This project is the second phase of Al Ghaith’s integrated chemical complex and represents the first large-scale chlor-alkali expansion in Oman. The project is being executed on a lump sum turnkey basis, covering all aspects from design to commissioning, with completion targeted within 19 months. In Phase I, Nuberg EPC delivered a 70 TPD chlor-alkali plant, and the current expansion will bring the total capacity to 190 TPD, significantly strengthening Oman’s downstream chemical ecosystem. Al Ghaith Chemical Industries, a major player in the Middle East’s chemical sector, produces caustic soda, calcium chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and other chlorine derivatives, serving industries such as oil & gas, water treatment, and manufacturing.
